Chris Byrne is a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher serving Maine and beyond. He completed his 200-Hour vinyasa training through Jacqui Bonwell’s Sacred Seeds Yoga School studying with Jacqui, Erica Magro Cahill and Katie Beane. He has also completed yin yoga training through My Meditative Yoga with Sagel Urlacher.
Chris came to the practice of yoga in 2012 after rehabbing from surgery on both legs that sidelined him from running, biking and hiking for most of the year. In addition to the physical benefits that helped him recover, Chris found that yoga offered him space to nurture his mind and spirit. Over the course of his practice and studies, Chris has developed a belief that the practice of yoga is not a quest for a picture-perfect, magazine cover pose. Instead, the practice enables a journey of self-discovery, creating space to align the mind, body and spirit. It is in this space that we are able to acknowledge ourselves and respond to the world around us with compassion and kindness.
His approach to teaching brings thoughtful, safe sequencing that is designed to be accessible for all bodies and abilities. Accompanied by good humor and a spirited play list, he encourages you to find the shape or posture that feels right for you in the moment.
He looks forward to sharing the gift of this practice with the community around him, especially welcoming new comers to the practice of yoga and mindfulness!
