This 200 hour training takes place over the course of 9 months (Oct 2018-June 2019), giving each participant plenty of time to absorb, reflect, practice and integrate the gained material into their personal yogic experience based research. We will examine anatomy and physiology, history, pranayama, and meditation. Familiar asanas will be deconstructed so students can master cueing and spotting a safe, integrated, aligned pose. Participants will learn how to successfully theme and sequence a class to the demographic of the class. As a teacher in training you will gain confidence in how to ask for consent, and apply verbal, psychic and hands-on adjustments to students. Vinyasa will be the main focus of this training; however other styles, such as Restorative and Iyengar will be pulled from so that trainees become familiar with several styles of asana practice. Students will leave knowing how to modify and amplify postures for special populations. Sanskrit, Ayurveda, yoga ethics and the business of yoga will all be introduced. Trainees will have plenty of teaching opportunities early and often throughout the 9 month program. To learn more or start the application process please visit our Teacher Training page.
