Katie found aerial practice in 2016 after trying an introductory class. Aerial appealed to her because focusing on the right positioning and stability strengthened her mat-based yoga practice. As a former gymnast and dancer, Aerial also provided an outlet that satisfied her inner child’s desire to play after long days in a corporate desk job.
In 2017 Katie received her 50 hour aerial teacher certificate with Carissa so that she could help others learn about this unique field of movement. She is currently enrolled in Metta’s 200 hour yoga teacher training.
Katie’s approach to teaching includes a focus on safe movement that is designed to be accessible for all bodies and abilities- all you need is a healthy sense of adventure and willingness to try something new. You’ll find multiple options in each sequence to challenge yourself just enough. Accompanied by a little humor and a spirited sense of play, she encourages you explore what feels right for you in the moment.
